I finally found the quote which defines me!!
For all those non-dreamers there, dreams will teach you a lot, and its okay to have fun sometimes. 😀

I guess I have to say, all the characters belong to Rick Riordan. 😀
PERCY HAD ONLY ONE THOUGHT when he was falling through the bottomless pit: Don’t let go of Annabeth. He felt like his insides were being compressed into nothing and his bones catching fire. Every second he would think, please, let this be the end. But the end never came.
When Percy had let go of the ledge, he thought that he would rather die with Annabeth than staying away from her. The eight months they were apart was already horrible. Then Annabeth had to go to follow the Mark of Athena. Percy didn’t want to let go. He was scared he would lose her again and he couldn’t stand that.
Nico’s face, when Percy let go of the ledge was horrible. He looked like hope would never come to him in a million years. When Percy asked him to meet them at Epirus, he agreed, but again, there wasn’t another choice.
And then, he left the ledge holding Annabeth as tight as ever.
He couldn’t hear much except for a high pitched wail. The only happy thing about this place was that he was holding Annabeth’s hand and they were together. Soon, he felt Annabeth’s face on his chest. She was sobbing horribly and in no time his shirt was wet with her tears. Also, the only happy thing he had thought of reduced to almost nothing. They held on to each other as tightly as possible. After what seemed like hour
Suddenly, Percy understood they were nearing the end. He braced himself for the fall and held Annabeth tightly. He was not going to let go after so long.
They fell with a thud, Annabeth had not let go of his shirt yet. He was almost certain that fifty of his bones must be broken. Percy was sure he was going to faint. He could not see anything around him but he stood up. Every cell in his body was protesting, but he had to do it, for Annabeth. He stood up and realized his bones were still intact.
Annabeth screamed a terrifying, blood curdling scream. He felt Annabeth right next to him, but she had become unconscious. “Annabeth!” He cried. “Wake up!” He shook her vigorously but she would not wake up. She was still breathing, but the fact that she was unconscious, scared him and he began to cry. “Annabeth, please, I can’t fight alone. Wake up!” Then he remembered her ankle. He ran to her ankle and was about to cut the string when a horrible sound came confirming his worst fear. It was a hissing sound. And Annabeth was gone.
“You have come, I am very glad. I shall not let any of you return above alive! I will be loyal to mother Geae for the rest of my life! Forever! ” The moment Percy heard Arachne, he gripped Riptide tightly, which was his only hope. She pulled Annabeth towards her almost effortlessly and said “Don’t you want to fight for your girlfriend, son of Poseidon?”
“Leave her out of this.” He said trying to muster all of his courage. “Don’t be a coward, Arachne. You’re not going to use anyone as a shield. If you win, you take the two of us to Gaea, if I do, well, you’re finished.”
Arachne chuckled. “Such bravado. No wonder Mother gaea wants you for the sacrifice.” said Arachne, “I accept your terms, Son of Poseidon. But remember, It will be four times more difficult to fight me here.”
Percy had no other choice than to fight. He prayed to all the Gods, though he was sure they would not listen. He could see nothing other than the glow of his blade in the darkness. He started drawing out the pros and cons he and Arachne had.
He had to fight a monster who he had never seen before in the dark. She was in home territory and Percy doubted there was any chance of her ever dying.
Then he looked at his advantages. None.
HAZEL STOOD PARALYZED till Piper shook her. “Come on, Hazel!!” “No,” Hazel said. “Percy can do something. He can!” Piper shook her once again. “Hazel! Percy is not here! There’s a fire! Frank told you!” When Hazel heard fire and frank together, she felt her pocket. She pulled Piper and left the room.
Instead of running to the hull, she ran into Nico’s room. “Fire!” she screamed. Nico didn’t wake up. She took the glass of water on his table and poured it on his face. “Fire, Nico, wake up!” Nico got up and rubbed his eyes. Hazel ran away leaving Piper to bring Nico. She hoped that he would wake up sooner.
Now she was searching for any opening so she could jump out, into the deep sea. It seemed foolish but there seemed no other way to protect Frank.
She reached the hull, expecting it to be on fire, but instead saw a sight which was far worse. The walls were charred and the place smelled of smoke. She saw Leo crouched on the floor, hands on his face and a horrible sound that sounded like crying.
Hazel went towards Leo and put her hand over his shoulder. Her stomach did a backflip. He didn’t look up or stop crying. She then noticed that his clothes were nearly burnt. “It’s over, Leo. Its only the walls that got burnt. You can fix it. I know you can. We’ll do it together.”Hazel said, patting his back.
“You’re the repair boy after all.” Came Franks voice. Leo looked up at Hazel and then at Frank. With a pang, Hazel noticed that the right half of his face was burnt. “Frank, your face.” She said, getting up to bring ice cubes.
She saw Nico, Piper and Jason along the way. Jason’s face was covered with soot and his shirt was covered with blisters. Other than that, he didn’t look bad. Hazel handed him some ice cubes and Piper too.
“How is Leo? Where is he? He must be broken.” Piper said. Hazel nodded and pointed to the hull. She could not speak. With great difficulty, she said “Don’t worry, Frank is there with him.” Then the four of them walked to the hull.
Nico looked around the room and touched the walls. A small portion of the wall fell down, making Nico scarper. Hazel made sure that Leo wasn’t watching. Then she took a bit of the remains of the wall and threw it into the sea. Nico followed.
“How did this happen?” he asked Hazel. “I have no clue. You got any message from Percy or Annabeth? I mean dreams or something of that sort. You still look tired.”She finished.
Nico smiled. “No message from Percy but I fail to understand why you aren’t there, trying to console Leo.” He said.“The same reason why you aren’t there,” Hazel replied without making eye contact. Nico laughed and said “Don’t tell me if you don’t want to.” and stared for sometime into the sea, lost in thought.
Hazel picked up another pile of char and threw it outside. It was funny how Leo had decided to land before the ship caught fire and that too, on a beach. She tried thinking of everything except for Leo. If he didn’t want to talk to her she wouldn’t either.
But he’s hurt, she told herself. But if I was hurt then he would be doing the same, she replied to herself. This conversation went on for hours, till Hazel’s hands began hurting. Nico was helping her too but she shooed him off to bed. He was too tired to refuse, so he went back.
“Need help?” Came Frank’s voice. He was holding two broom sticks and smiling as if he was holding the lost eagle. Hazel smiled and took one. She wanted to ask him how Leo was, but she herself stopped it. “Leo’s in bed, we promised we’d repair the hull by tomorrow evening. He didn’t agree but we pestered him so much that he had no other choice than to agree.” Frank said and smiled triumphantly.
“Sorry for not helping out.” Hazel said. “The burn is already healing!” she said. Only just remembering that frank had got burnt. “But, how did all this happen? I mean the fire. One second everything was fine and the next…”
“It was my fault.” Frank said. Hazel noticed that he was looking at the floor. “I was on duty. I should have alerted the crew when I saw something. But I called only Leo five seconds before a chimera caught up with us. He did all he could. We destroyed the Chimera right after it burnt the front of the ship.” He sat down and looked at the moon which was full today. “Why were you doing such a stupid thing?” asked Hazel, unable to suppress herself.
“I’m such a stupid person to think that the chimera would pass without bothering us.” he said and looked miserably at Hazel. “You didn’t know it was a chimera.” She said. Frank continued staring at the moon silently.
Hazel wanted to ask him a lot more things and shout at him for being so careless, but she sat beside him, and together, they watched the motionless moon which was shining brighter than before. This gave Hazel hope, that maybe, tomorrow would be better than today.
I wrote the first three chapters of the House of Hades about a month after reading the Mark of Athena. So its almost a year since I wrote it. It’s terrible when compared to Rick Riordan’s sneak peak, but here goes nothing.
HAZEL WAS COMPLETELY DISTRAUGHT after what had happened. She wanted to run away from everything. Watching Percy and Annabeth plummet into that Tartarus, she was terrified that such strong demigods could fall so suddenly. Life could change within a second. She hated being a demigod.
As she walked towards the engine room, to meet Leo, she felt like running back. After she’d shared with Leo, she sensed his awkwardness around her. It was very weird, that if she hadn’t died, Leo would have been her great grandson.
She opened the door and peeped inside. Leo didn’t seem to notice. He was looking at some scrolls, talking to Festus. She entered. “Leo?” she said, he looked up almost immediately, smiling. “Hey. What’s up?” he said looking back at his scrolls. “Umm… Leo, you want help?” What was she saying?
“Nah. I’m great, Miss La-”He stopped like he just realized what he was saying. He hit his head and continued “Hazel. But why all of a sudden? Not that I’m not liking it that you’re offering to help me with so much- Never mind. Next time you don’t have to ask me if I need help because I’ll always refuse out of modesty.” He said and looked at Festus. Festus made a noise and Leo smiled.
Hazel was getting annoyed that Leo wasn’t looking at her while he spoke. He was constantly fiddling with something which looked a little like a camera. “Okay then, I’m leaving.” She said, and turned towards the door. Leo didn’t look like he heard what she said.So she stamped her foot and said, “I’m leaving now.”
“Fine,” She heard Leo say. “I heard that, Hazel. Go. You’re not supposed to be here with me. It could be dangerous. For Frank.” Hazel wanted to protest but she figured that he had a point.
As if to prove his point, his hand caught fire making Hazel take a step back. He extinguished the flames in his pockets and looked at hazel as if to say I told you so.
Hazel left the room with one last glimpse of Leo looking at his hands like he would’ve liked to cut them and throw them into Tartarus.
She walked through the Argo II and was so lost in thought she didn’t see Frank coming, she bumped into him. “Sorry.” Frank said. But Hazel hugged him and began sobbing. Frank didn’t react for a few seconds.
Hazel was going to leave when she felt Frank’s arms around her. “It’s… It’s okay. Umm… They’ll be back in no time. You’ll see.” Hazel thought Frank was going to turn into an iguana again. She let that thought in to replace her sad thoughts. Surprisingly, it wasn’t difficult to reduce the sobbing. Now she was crying silently into his shirt which was now wet from her tears. Even if Frank couldn’t really comfort her by talking, his hands were steady.
Then she heard Piper saying “Frank, Jason wanted you-”she stopped mid-sentence and said “Frank?…. Oh.” Hazel was now wiping her tears. “Hazel, are you alright?” Hazel nodded and managed to give a smile. But she began crying all over again.
Piper led her to her room and got her to sit on the bed. Frank followed but Piper said, “Jason needs your help.”
“So,” Piper said, “Are you alright?” Hazel wanted to run away. She didn’t seem to have an answer to this question. And she thought if she lied, anyone would believe but Piper. Piper poured out a glass of water and took a sip and added a spoon of sugar into it. Then she gave it to Hazel and waited for her to drink it. The water was mildly sweet. Somehow, it was soothing and she took another sip. Then another. Finally the glass was empty. The tears had stopped flowing.
She was totally bewildered. She looked at Piper and saw Piper smiling, she said, “Dad says it’s great to have sweet water. It makes you more energetic and happy. You’re alright now, I suppose.” Hazel nodded. She looked at Pipers room which was grey and white stripes. There was a picture of her and her dad in a corner of the room. The rest of the room was empty except for a white cupboard which was filled with pictures of different Cherokee eagles and more pictures of her with her father.
“It’s not about Percy and Annabeth, Is it?” She asked. Hazel looked at her and began speaking, but Piper interrupted “I know you’re going to refuse but I think there is something between the two of you. By two of you I mean you and Leo, not Frank. I know Leo the best after Jason. I mean, he’s a nice guy. He can’t even talk to girls without trying to restrain himself from running away.” She laughed.
Hazel smiled. “I have to be honest to you, Piper. I really don’t know what’s happening. I don’t know about Leo. I’ll tell you the moment I know. I promise.”
As soon as she said that, the door flung open and revealed a Frank gasping for breath.“ The ship is on fire! Run!” he said and ran.
I have not been writing lately at all. And I am not going to blame that on my exams, because, I have to admit, I was not doing anything particularly productive during my 20-40 minute breaks. I will, however, blame it on procrastination. Procrastination is my fatal flaw. Not hummus or hubris, thankfully. I can plan to do something months before the actual date, but, given my absolutely lazy nature, it never happens.
But today, I have decided to include everything from book reviews, to fandom expressions, to random thoughts, to pictures.
Hope I stay true to my word. I will try my best to make this blog a beautiful place to be in. I hope.
At this age, Harry Potter realized the true purpose of his life. Fifteen does not feel much different from fourteen but still, this day has been a great day.
My parents, without whom my existence in this world would be impossible. They have never given up on me and I would like to thank them for doing that. My two gorgeous friends, who mean the world to me, and surprised me with the awesome chocolate cake. My two cousins, who are equivalent to sisters that I never had. My other friends, who took their time to wish me and helped me through school. My teachers, because some of them, a very few of them, have made an impact in my life. And all the other people, who have helped me to be who I am.
